In a typical academic year over 600 foreign students - from many countries - come to study at NUI Galway. Their presence on campus is welcomed and appreciated for the diversity and cultural enrichment which they bring to university life. A number of factors lead overseas students to come to NUI Galway; the University is acknowledged internationally for its academic excellence, and Galway itself provides an environment that is safe, friendly and supportive.
Visiting students spending a year or semester in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies at NUI Galway have available to them a wide range of courses on offer to full time undergraduate students in the College. The policy of the College is that students should attend the same courses and sit the same examinations as NUI Galway students. Visiting students may select their courses from different years and different disciplines to suit their academic needs and, in making that selection, have available to them the complete range of the College's academic services.
For information on Courses and Programme Information, please consult the Visiting Student Academic Information Booklet. Course Descriptions for Semester 1 is now available below.
NB: Please note that the you may only choose courses listed in the Booklets.
