Course overview

The one-year, part-time Master of Education (MEd), prepares you to design and carry out self-directed educational research, under supervision, to a professional standard. It combines a taught component in research methodologies with a research component which culminates in the production of a research dissertation. Teaching and learning strategies – which include lectures, workshops, tutorials and research seminars – introduce you to a range of research methodologies and support you through the research process. We foster a systematic, critical and ethical approach to educational research, with training in methods of analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. The programme aims to develop your capacity to conduct and communicate research which will contribute to the enhancement of educational policy and professional practice.
